Job summary

Stark State College (OH) is seeking a federal work study Help Desk Assistant to provide level I support to faculty, students, and staff using the online Help Desk software. The role includes assisting users in person and by phone, dividing level 2 tasks to IT groups, and helping with campus IT projects.

The position requires strong communication, telephone skills, and reliability; enrollment in an IT/ET program or prior IT exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Enrollment in an ET/IT program or previous IT experience is preferred.
• Experience with communication software and applications is preferred.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Strong telephone skills.
• Good grades are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide level I help desk support to faculty, students, and staff using the Online Help Desk software and telephone etiquette.
• Assign level 2 support to the appropriate IT group.
• Assist users at the Help Desk counter and over the phone.
• Disperse help aids and assist Help Desk staff with projects as needed.
• Uphold SSC policies and procedures.
