Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Information Technology Generalist 1 to join the Infrastructure team, supporting a wide range of technologies and remote sites across PennDOT, DCED, and PEMA.

Responsibilities include technical support, device management, network monitoring, and ticket processing using the Remedy system. This full-time role offers telework up to 2 days weekly after probation, with on-site options at the Montoursville headquarters.

Qualifications

• One year as an IT trainee or IT technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent).
• Three years IT experience in applications development/maintenance, networking or desktop services; or equivalent.
• One year IT experience in applications development/maintenance, networking or desktop services plus an associate's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Resolve network, hardware, and software issues for users at district, county, and remote field sites.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade workstations, mobile devices, printers, and specialized equipment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using administrative tools to isolate and correct problems.
• Document incidents, manage work assignments, and submit service requests through the Remedy system.
• Track and manage mobile devices and coordinate with development teams on app needs.
• Support telecommunications systems, security devices, and department applications for onsite and remote users.
