Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking a Docketing Analyst in Charlotte, NC to support IP attorneys and staff with detailed, accurate client information and deadlines, managing docket portfolios and ensuring compliance with firm processes.

The role requires strong IP docketing experience, attention to detail, and proficiency with docket software and MS Office. You will collaborate with the Docket team to maintain confidentiality and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Intellectual Property docketing experience in Trademark.
• Strong experience with domestic and foreign trademark and TTAB matters.
• High school diploma or equivalent. College degree or equivalent specialized training (ex, paralegal studies) beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Read, sort, and distribute incoming mail from USPTO and foreign authorities.
• Ensure daily docket clearance and maintain filing logs.
• Provide guidance on complex docket-related questions to IP attorneys and staff.
• Maintain accurate docket database and generate reports as required.
• Save client and legal documents to PATTSY; upload images to matter-level PATTSY page.
• Process abandoned and/or inactive files.
• Maintain electronic global docket calendar for domestic/international patents, trademarks, and inter-parties.
• Maintain confidentiality with attorneys, staff, and clients.
• Ensure docketing accuracy per CFR, client, and foreign authority requirements.
• Maintain e-files through IP Management System/iManage integration.
• Lead audits (bibliographic, PTO) and mass data updates as assigned.
