Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an IP Docket Specialist to monitor shared mailboxes and docket items across multiple offices, ensuring deadlines are captured and filed in a timely manner. The role requires a 2-year degree or paralegal certificate, 3-5 years of IP docketing experience, and proficiency with PattsyWave, MS Office, Adobe, and Excel.

The position reports to the Senior IP Docket Manager and offers remote flexibility.

Qualifications

2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate required; 4-year degree preferred.
3-5 years of IP docketing experience with IP docketing software including PattsyWave.
Strong knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution process and IP workflows.
Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe products, and internet research; ability to prepare, export, edit, filter, sort, search, and reformat large spreadsheets within Excel.

Responsibilities

Docket for designated assignment groups across multiple offices and mailboxes.
Review USPTO and foreign filings and verify accuracy.
De-docket completed deadlines and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure accuracy of timekeepers on matters.
Create, review, and distribute accurate matter reports.
Respond to requests from timekeepers and staff regarding docketed dates and rules.
Collaborate with IP Docket Manager to improve docketing practices.
Process abandoned and transferred matters and onboard portfolios.
Assist Docket Team with special projects.
Stay current with US and foreign filing regulations.
