Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service firm seeking an IP Docket Specialist who will monitor shared mailboxes and docket items promptly according to firm guidelines using IP docketing software. The role reports to the Senior IP Docket Manager and supports the team on special projects.

Requirements include a 2-year degree or paralegal certificate (4-year degree preferred) and 3–5 years of IP docketing experience with PattsyWave, plus strong MS Office skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate required; 4-year degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of IP docketing experience with PattsyWave.
• Strong knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Excel data handling.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently docket for designated assignment group (multiple offices and/or shared docketing mailboxes).
• Review USPTO and foreign filings for accuracy and verify via agency websites.
• Create, review, and distribute accurate matter reports.
• Respond to requests from timekeepers and staff regarding docketed dates.
• Collaborate with the IP Docket Manager to improve docketing practices and processes.
• Process abandoned and transferred matters and assist with onboarding portfolios.
• Remain current with developments in US and foreign filing entities.
