Job summary

The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and proficiency in HIS systems and Microsoft Office, with PowerScribe/PowerShare knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Maintain confidentiality and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to type and enter orders in HIS system; retrieve information.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; PACS knowledge preferred.
• PowerScribe and PowerShare knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates cardiology and radiology workflows, reviewing patient wait times and satisfaction.
• Ensures accurate scheduling and outpatient preparation for tests.
• Schedules all Special/Interventional Radiology and Cardiology procedures via phone, EMR, or fax.
• Reviews tentative schedules and consults with modality leaders and radiologists.
• Addresses schedule conflicts with Directors, Managers, Nursing, and Radiologists.
• Flags special needs and informs departments about add-on cases for non-admitted patients.
• Sends reservations within set timeframes and supports workflow improvements with director approval.
• Supports front-desk operations to reduce wait times and resolve issues; ensures HIPAA compliance.
• Confirms outpatient appointments.
