Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Radiology Scheduling Clerk to coordinate workflow for radiology modalities, ensure accurate appointment scheduling, and provide front-desk support. You will communicate with physicians, staff, and patients to minimize wait times and uphold HIPAA privacy.

The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to handle urgent situations calmly. Prior radiology office experience and BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to exercise judgment and initiative to resolve problems and expedite patient care.
• Calm, professional interaction with patients and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIS data entry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; PACS experience preferred.
• Familiarity with PowerScribe and PowerShare is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates workflow for radiology modalities and monitors patient wait times and satisfaction.
• Ensures accurate scheduling and outpatient prep for radiographic tests.
• Communicates with hospital departments and external entities as a representative.
• Schedules special procedures with physicians and staff via phone and fax.
• Reviews schedules and addresses impacts with leadership and radiologists.
• Addresses conflicts or requests outside policy with leadership.
• Coordinates add-on cases and reservations within timelines.
• Develops and implements process improvements with director approval.
• Assists radiology staff with projects and duties as needed.
• Provides front-desk support and handles patient check-in and service concerns.
• Performs records release of films/reports, HIPAA compliant.
• Monitors strategic objectives and confirms outpatient appointments.
