Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Admit Worker to schedule Interventional Radiology procedures and ensure all paperwork is completed for patient care. You will verify funding sources, confirm physician documentation, and coordinate dates with physicians, staff and anesthesia teams.

You will communicate with patients to obtain demographic data, provide wait time estimates, and act as a liaison among admissions, IR, and other departments to maintain schedule integrity.

Qualifications

• General understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of registration processes and payer programs.
• Experience in hospital or medical office settings.
• Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT codes.
• Experience with the referral authorization process.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for Interventional Radiology procedures and secure paperwork.
• Coordinate dates/times based on physician and staff availability.
• Input demographic and financial data into SMS system and communicate wait times.
• Serve as liaison between admissions, other departments, and IR.
