Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to lead small-group instruction for students in reading and math, focusing on closing learning gaps within a school year. The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, collaboration with general education staff, and adherence to district standards.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction in small groups for 3rd-8th grade students at risk in reading and/or math.
• Teach district-approved intervention for Kinder-2nd grade (campus dependent) at risk students.
• Teach district-approved intervention for 9th-12th grade (campus dependent) at risk students.
• Coordinate with general education teachers to support students needing intervention.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious goals.
• Deliver content and core objectives aligned to grade-level texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Use formal and informal assessments to track progress of each student.
• Communicate progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology effectively to support learning and communication.
• Apply a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Foster a positive classroom culture and student character.
• Develop collaborative relationships with families and communities.
• Provide tutoring sessions as needed.
