Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for its 2027 Summer Internship Program to develop hands-on, real-world experience in building systems design.

You will support electrical design tasks, learn under experienced staff, and gain proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, and related software while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Academic coursework related to building systems (power distribution; lighting) is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to electrical system design.
• Learn basic principles of electrical system design, focused in power distribution, lighting systems, telecom and security systems.
• Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design concepts.
• Become an expert with Autodesk Revit.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites and assist with existing condition surveys.

Requirements/Responsibilities

• Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems (power distribution; lighting) is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
