Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company is seeking Mechanical/HVAC Engineering Interns for the 2027 Summer Internship Program in Conneaut, OH. Interns will gain hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design while working with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, and other software tools.

You will be part of multi-disciplinary teams, supporting design tasks, learning fundamentals of building systems, and contributing to real projects for top clients. Travel to project sites for surveys may be required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with basic computer software: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework relevant to building systems (HVAC) preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical system design tasks related to HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.
• Learn basic principles of mechanical system design and coordination within a design team.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD in design tasks.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multi-disciplinary project teams and travel to project sites for surveys.

We are seeking Mechanical/HVAC Engineering Interns to work out of our office in Conneaut, OH.Our summer internship program at HFL cultivates future engineering professionals, looking to gain hands-one, real-world experience to enhance their education and professional skills. Requirements/Responsibilities

What You’ll Need:

• Enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems (HVAC) is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
