Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for its 2027 Summer Internship Program in Lancaster, PA. You will gain hands-on experience in building systems design and work with multi-disciplinary teams on real projects.

The role emphasizes learning Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM360 while supporting design tasks, performing basic calculations, and participating in site surveys. This internship suits students pursuing EE or AE degrees and who are motivated to learn.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D modeling with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with basic software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Interest in building systems design and construction with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical system design tasks as part of a design team.
• Learn principles of power distribution, lighting, telecom and security systems.
• Become proficient with Autodesk Revit and related tools.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites for existing condition surveys.

Requirements/Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to electrical system design.

• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.

What You'll Need:

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems (power distribution; lighting) is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
