Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company invites Electrical Engineering interns to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA.

Interns will gain hands-on experience on real projects, using Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, and related software, while working within multi-disciplinary teams. We seek students enrolled in Electrical or Architectural Engineering programs who are motivated to learn building systems design and construction, with opportunities to network with industry professionals

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D modeling with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Relevant coursework in building systems (power distribution; lighting).
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to electrical system design.
• Learn basic principles of electrical system design focusing on power distribution and lighting.
• Collaborate with the design team and other disciplines.
• Become proficient with Autodesk Revit.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Travel to project sites for condition surveys.

We are seeking Electrical Engineering Interns to work in our headquarter office in Pittsburgh, PA. Requirements/Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to electrical system design.
• Learn basic principles of electrical system design, focused in power distribution, lighting systems, telecom and security systems.
• Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design concepts.
• Become an expert with Autodesk Revit.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites and assist with existing condition surveys.

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems (power distribution; lighting) is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
