Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for a 2027 Summer Internship in Johnstown, PA.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams on real-world building systems design projects and gain hands-on experience using Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 and related tools. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an Electrical or Architectural Engineering program, have 2D/3D modeling knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Electrical or Architectural Engineering program.
• Interest in building systems design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical system design tasks as part of the project team.
• Learn basic principles of electrical distribution, lighting, telecom and security systems.
• Assist with engineering studies and surveys and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Travel to project sites to conduct existing condition surveys.

We are seeking Electrical Engineering Interns to work in our headquarter office in Johnstown, PA.Our summer internship program at HFL cultivates future engineering professionals, looking to gain hands-one, real-world experience to enhance their education and professional skills. Requirements/Responsibilities

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to electrical system design.
• Learn basic principles of electrical system design, focused in power distribution, lighting systems, telecom and security systems.
• Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design concepts.
• Become an expert with Autodesk Revit.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites and assist with existing condition surveys.

What You’ll Need:

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems (power distribution; lighting) is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.
• Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
