Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for its 2027 Summer Internship Program at the Conneaut, OH headquarters. The program emphasizes hands-on, real-world experience within multi-disciplinary teams.

Interns will gain exposure to building systems design, power distribution, lighting, telecom and security, and will work with software such as Revit, AutoCAD and BIM360 while developing strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D modeling with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Relevant coursework in building systems (power distribution; lighting) preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Interest in learning building systems design and construction.
• Prior internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical system design tasks.
• Learn basics of electrical system design focusing on power, lighting, telecom and security.
• Work with the design team and apply engineering design concepts.
• Become proficient with Autodesk Revit.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites for existing condition surveys.

Requirements / Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to electrical system design.
