Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company, a nationally recognized Top 100 building & design engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to work on-site at our Johnstown, PA headquarters. You will support civil design tasks, learn 2D/3D modeling, and gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will be part of real projects, travel to sites, and develop skills in building systems design, surveying, and analysis alongside seasoned engineers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling including Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework relevant to civil design is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong interest to learn building systems design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of civil design tasks.
• Learn basic principles of civil design, focused on land development and site surveying.
• Work as part of the design team and apply engineering design and survey concepts.
• Become proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites and assist with surveys.
