Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects, potentially handling more than one at a time. This role drives profitability, ensures quality and safety, and meets owner expectations through effective team and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities include preparing estimates, budgets, PMP, value engineering, subcontracts, permits, schedules, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Minimum of four years project management experience within Data Center Construction.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Understanding of estimating concepts, bids, change orders and market rates.
• Understanding contractual language and how to protect the company while providing quality service.
• Knowledge of construction laws and practices and applicable building codes.
• Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently and manage processes to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing estimates for the project.
• Prepares project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Leads the project team in preparing the project management plan.
• Participates in value engineering services as appropriate.
• Organizes and conducts pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiates and prepares project subcontracts.
• Obtains permits and handles regulatory requirements.
• Develops project schedules and milestones with the project superintendent.
• Monitors cost, safety, quality and schedule performance with the project team.
• Manages procurement of materials and equipment within budget.
• Develops and monitors quality, safety and risk management plans.
• Coordinates close-out procedures and final documents.
• Maintains client communications and progress reporting.
• Collaborates with Estimating for cost information and database updates.
