Job summary

The Acting General Manager provides interim leadership and operational oversight for hotels within an assigned ownership portfolio. This role assumes full General Manager responsibilities during leadership transitions, special projects, performance improvement initiatives, or other business needs.

Qualifications

• At least 4–6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• Experience as a General Manager highly preferred.
• Multi-brand leadership experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently and take temporary assignments.
• Proficient with Windows OS, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Assume full responsibility for hotel operations, ensuring compliance with company, ownership, and brand standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Financial Performance: Drive revenue growth, expense management, budgeting, forecasting, and overall profitability to achieve ownership and company objectives.
• Sales & Business Development: Partner with sales and revenue teams to maximize market performance, strengthen client relationships, and identify growth opportunities.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop hotel leadership teams while fostering associate engagement, accountability, and a culture of service excellence.
• Ownership & Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary liaison with ownership groups, brand representatives, corporate leaders, and key business partners to ensure alignment and effective communication.
• Transition & Stabilization Management: Provide leadership during management transitions, hotel openings, renovations, operational challenges, and special assignments to ensure business continuity and successful outcomes.
