Job summary

Energy Project Solutions (EPS) seeks an Interconnection & Transmission Regulatory Manager to lead interconnection strategy and regulatory engagement for utility-scale solar and BESS projects in Puerto Rico, coordinating with utilities, regulators, and project teams.

The role requires hands-on interconnection experience, fluency in Spanish and English, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory processes while traveling for meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
• 7+ years in electric utility interconnection, transmission planning, power systems engineering, or energy regulatory affairs.
• Hands-on interconnection experience for utility-scale solar PV and BESS.
• Fluency in Spanish and English for technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of power systems fundamentals and interconnection procedures.
• Experience coordinating with utilities, EPCs, legal counsel, and project development teams.
• Willing to travel to Puerto Rico for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead interconnection strategy across a portfolio of utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
• Manage utility relationships with LUMA Energy, PREPA, and other stakeholders.
• Review scoping, system impact, and facilities studies for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate transmission planning, upgrades, costs, and schedule risks.
• Negotiate and administer interconnection agreements with legal support.
• Support regulatory engagement with PREB proceedings and tariff filings.
• Coordinate with utilities, EPCs, and consultants on protection, metering, SCADA.
• Provide early-stage interconnection assessments and upgrade cost estimates.
• Maintain interconnection trackers and report milestones to leadership.
• Collaborate with development, engineering, construction, legal, and finance teams.
• Represent the project owner in utility meetings and regulatory workshops.
