Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC seeks an Interconnection & Transmission Regulatory Manager to lead interconnection strategy, coordinate transmission planning, and manage regulatory engagement across Puerto Rico projects. Fluency in Spanish and English, a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and 7+ years in interconnection, planning, or regulatory affairs are required.

Travel to PR will be needed; remote work is possible.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both Spanish and English and able to lead technical discussions.
• 7+ years in electric utility interconnection, transmission planning, power systems, or regulatory affairs.
• Hands-on interconnection experience for utility-scale solar or BESS projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead interconnection strategy across a portfolio of projects.
• Manage utility relationships with LUMA Energy, PREPA, and others.
• Review and approve interconnection studies for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate transmission planning and assess network upgrades.
• Negotiate and administer interconnection agreements.
• Support regulatory engagement with PREB and tariffs.
• Coordinate requirements with utilities, EPCs, and consultants.
• Support project development with cost estimates and schedules.
• Maintain interconnection trackers and report to leadership.
• Collaborate across development, engineering, legal, and finance teams.
• Represent project owners in utility meetings and regulatory workshops.
