Job summary

You will enter referral status in the system, communicate gaps to the sales/referral sources, handle PHI securely, and support the intake team with timely updates and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years working for a Durable Medical Equipment company or medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD10 codes and HIPAA regulations.
• Strong communication with physicians, patients, insurers, colleagues, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves incoming referrals from portals.
• Reviews medical records to determine medical necessity met.
• Communicates to sales team or referral sources what is missing to complete referrals.
• Interacts professionally with physicians, patients, family, and coworkers.
• Schedules setups as called into VieMed by physicians or staff.
• Documents status of referrals in the computer system.
• Assists to complete all open referrals.
• Checks network status.
• Sends weekly updates to sales team on missing referrals.
• Reports concerns to Intake Manager or Intake Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
