VieMed, LLC is seeking an Intake Coordinator to manage referrals from portals, review medical records for medical necessity, and communicate missing items to sales and referral sources. The role involves professional interaction with physicians, patients, and staff.

Responsibilities include scheduling setups, documenting referral status, maintaining HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI, and providing weekly updates on missing referrals. Office-based position with potential overtime as needed.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years working for a DME company or medical office experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of medical insurance benefits.
• Able to read and understand medical documentation effectively.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS & ICD-10 codes and HIPAA.

Responsabilidades

• Retrieves incoming referrals from portals and determines medical necessity.
• Reviews medical records from referrals to determine if medical necessity has been met.
• Communicates to sales team or referral sources if referral is acceptable or what is missing.
• Interacts professionally with physicians, patients, patient’s family, and co-workers.
• Schedules setups per policy and procedure.
• Documents referral status in the computer system.
• Assists to complete all open referrals.
• Checks network status.
• Sends weekly updates to sales team on missing referrals.
• Reports concerns to Intake Manager or Intake Supervisor.
• Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
