Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1+ years' experience in healthcare admissions preferred, ideally in mental health or substance use disorders.
• Experience in client assessment, referral, treatment planning and communications with external review entities.
• Knowledge of community resources and service availability.
• Outstanding interpersonal and interviewing skills; strong telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission assessments.
• Interviews client, family members, and collateral sources to verify intake criteria.
• Guides discussions with referral sources for client support and business development.
• Responds to needs of referred clients and coordinates with admissions team.
• Assesses family needs for mediation and determines appropriate professional resources.
• Decides which interventionist and facility to recommend, dates and travel.
• Works with departments and external parties to ensure timely admissions.
• Documents all activities in the CRM and maintains admissions documentation.
• Verifies insurance benefits for all private admissions.
• Screens referrals and arranges transportation for admission.
• Maintains a waiting list and stays in contact with potential candidates.
