Job summary

Wilmington Treatment Center is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to handle patient admission and registration, coordinating with referrals and families while maintaining clear communication between the program and callers.

A Bachelor's degree is required and at least one year of healthcare admissions experience is preferred. Responsibilities include data entry, scheduling assessments, answering phones, and guiding patients through the admission process with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One or more years’ experience in healthcare admissions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and search new patients upon arrival.
• Review admissions against approved criteria, policies and procedures.
• Schedule assessments of voluntary patients.
• Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
• Handle clerical duties including data entry and answering phones.
• Initiate data collection from patients and sources for clinical/demographic info.
• Assist prospective patients in seeking treatment.
• Register patient to the assigned program.
• Ensure timely completion of admission paperwork and notify staff of arrivals/transfers.
• Refer inquiries to other agencies or community resources when not appropriate for facility admission.
• Coordinate with referral sources and arrange patient transportation.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers.
