Job summary

Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in Westfield, PA seeks an Intake Coordinator to manage front-desk operations, triage calls, and coordinate admissions. The role involves pre-registration, insurance eligibility verification, and collaboration with the admissions department to ensure timely service delivery.

The candidate should have strong assessment and interviewing skills, knowledge of community resources, and experience in healthcare admissions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in healthcare admissions preferred.
• Experience in client assessment, referral, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Outstanding interpersonal and interviewing and assessment skills.
• Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission assessments.
• Interviews client, family members and/or collateral sources to assure intake criteria are met.
• Reviews prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.
• Generates, guides, and leads discussions with referral sources for client support and business development.
• Responds and reacts to the needs of referred clients.
• Assesses family needs for mediation, sober escort and intervention and determines appropriate resources.
• Decides which Interventionist and facility to recommend, dates, and travel.
• Works with other departments and external parties to ensure timely admission.
• Documents daily activities in CRM and maintains admissions documentation.
• Verifies benefits for all clients on private insurance admissions.
• Screens calls from referrals and arranges transportation for admission.
• Maintains waiting list for admissions and contacts potential candidates.
