Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to own personal auto or property policy language as Kin expands into new states and launches new products. This role anchors drafting for your line of business and provides legal advice on form wording and regulatory interactions.

You will draft complete filing-ready forms packages, review AI-assisted drafts, and maintain reusable state kits. A JD and 5+ years of drafting experience are required, with strong regulatory and policy language

Qualifications

• JD required with 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states is a plus.
• Ability to translate statutes and regulations into clear policy language.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate them into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to regulator objections and advocate Kin's position on form wording.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal partners and audits.
• Draft complete state and product forms packages for your line of business ready for filing.
• Review forms drafted by the team and elevate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Maintain countrywide base forms and state kits for your line of business.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language to speed up future filings.
• Deliver internal training on policy forms, coverage interpretation, and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
• Identify legal risks in proposed product designs before drafting.
