Farmers Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial and motivated Agent in Training who aims to build a long-term career in the insurance industry. This role offers paid training that leads to a competitive base salary, plus commissions and performance-based bonuses.

The position is in-office in Michigan with potential for remote work. You will learn agency growth, client relationships, and business development while preparing to take on leadership or ownership in the future.

Qualifications

• Must have strong sales aptitude with ability to generate new business.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to educate clients on coverage options.
• Ability to build relationships and network within the community to create referrals.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through inbound and outbound sales activities (phone, text, email, and virtual outreach).
• Conduct cold and warm calls to prospective customers and referral sources to build a pipeline.
• Follow up on leads and inquiries to identify coverage needs and close opportunities.
• Attend local events and network to build partnerships that create referral opportunities.
• Meet with customers in person or virtually to review coverage and provide tailored insurance solutions.
• Educate clients on risk exposure and protection strategies to aid informed decisions.
• Provide excellent service by handling policy changes, renewals, and claims support.
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the book of business to increase value.
• Maintain accurate activity and CRM records; stay updated on Farmers products and promotions.
