Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial and motivated Agent in Training in Michigan to build a long-term career in the insurance industry. This in-office role includes paid training and a base salary upon completion, plus commission and performance bonuses, with potential for remote work as training progresses.

Candidates must have Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health licenses or be willing to obtain them; free pre-licensing education is available.

Qualifications

• In-office Michigan role with optional remote work.
• Active Michigan licenses or willingness to obtain them.
• Free pre-licensing education available to meet state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through inbound and outbound sales channels.
• Conduct cold and warm calls to prospective customers and referrals.
• Follow up promptly on leads, inquiries, and walk-ins to close opportunities.
• Build relationships in the community through events and partnerships for referrals.
• Meet with customers to review coverage and tailor insurance solutions.
• Educate clients on coverage options and risk exposures to inform decisions.
• Deliver high-quality service by handling policy changes, renewals and claims support.
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities to grow account value and retention.
• Maintain accurate activity and pipeline records in CRM systems.
