Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial Agent in Training in Michigan, offering paid training that converts to a base salary with commission and performance bonuses. This in-office role may allow remote work and focuses on sales, client relationships, and business development to build a book of business.

Licensing in Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health is required or can be obtained via free pre-licensing education. Growth toward leadership or ownership is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health licenses or willingness to obtain them.
• Strong sales and relationship-building skills with a growth mindset.
• Ability to learn agency operations and script effective client conversations.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through inbound/outbound sales, including calls, text, email, and virtual outreach.
• Conduct cold and warm calling to prospective customers and referral sources to build a pipeline.
• Follow up on leads and inquiries to identify coverage needs and close opportunities.
• Attend local events and build partnerships to create referral opportunities.
• Meet with customers in person, by phone, or virtually to review coverage and tailor solutions.
• Educate clients on coverage options and risks to support informed decisions.
• Deliver high service by handling policy changes, renewals, and claims support.
• Identify cross-sell opportunities to increase account value and retention.
• Maintain accurate activity and CRM records; stay current on product offerings.
