Job summary

Stantec’s Fort Worth, TX office is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join their Energy and Resources team. You will contribute to consulting-based automation and control system design across mining and heavy industries.

The role emphasizes multi-disciplinary design, instrumentation specification, and PLC/DCS/SCADA architecture development, with travel ~10% to client sites and other Stantec offices. A PE license is preferred or licensure pursuit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals to construction and start-up.
• Site work including as-is investigations, scope validation, and commissioning support.
• Lead I&C construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and instrument layouts with designers/drafters.
• Specify instrumentation datasheets and support procurement through technical evaluation.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems.
