Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in the United States (Phoenix, AZ) is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team.

You will help design I&C systems, PLC/DCS/SCADA architectures, and related construction drawings for mining and heavy industry projects. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5–10 years of relevant experience, and a Professional Engineering license (or path to licensure).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design, construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Design and develop I&C construction drawings and instrument/controls layouts.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with third-party systems.
• Prepare functional specifications, control logic, and safety interlocks.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
