Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team in Denver, Colorado.

This role focuses on developing and delivering automation and control system designs for mining and energy projects across North America. You will lead or support projects, collaborate with engineers, EITs, designers, and specialists, and travel ~10% to client sites or Stantec offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• Professional Engineering license or ability to become licensed.
• Experience in mining projects is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases and start-up.
• Site work including investigations, scope validation, construction, commissioning and start-up support.
• Lead the design and development of I&C construction drawings and instrumentation specifications.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems.
• Prepare technical specs for industrial networks and underground installation standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients; contribute to quality control and design verification.
