Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District seeks a Secondary Classroom Teacher to implement instruction in assigned subjects and foster each student's potential. Reports to Building Principal and works within a professional, exempt schedule.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, Texas teaching certification (or out-of-state equivalent) with ESL certification in the first year, and adherence to district curricula and state guidelines. Training and collaboration with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from a related field.
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate or out-of-state certificate appropriate for position; ESL certification required during first year if not yet obtained.
• Content exam and Science of Teaching Reading exam requirements met, if applicable.
• Certification must meet requirements to remain qualified for position per federal/state law.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the district's philosophy of instruction and develop lesson plans with written preparation evidence.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for different learning styles and follow TEA guidelines.
• Assess student learning styles and modify curricula with special education collaboration as needed per IEPs.
• Coordinate with staff to determine goals, objectives, and methods; supervise aides and volunteers; use technology to strengthen instruction.
