Job summary

Carter Lumber in Evansville, IN, is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to be the face of the store, helping customers with product information, estimates, and transactions. You’ll follow up on quotes, qualify leads, and support Outside Sales Reps while contributing to inventory control.

Training provided on products, POS system, and paperwork; salary plus commission with uncapped earning potential enhances the opportunity for growth within a friendly, people-first environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with sales in interior products such as door hardware, shelving, fireplaces, shower glass and mirrors, as well as other building materials.
• Experience working in sales or customer service.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Effective communication skills.
• Familiarity with building materials.
• Ability to be a team player.
• Ability to ensure sales and profit goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store and provide product information and guidance.
• Share product information, advise on project needs, and produce estimates for packages/projects.
• Process transactions and follow up on online customer quotes.
• Qualify new leads via cold calls and support Outside Sales Reps as needed.
• Assist in inventory control by conducting cycle counts and resolving overages/shortages.
