Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to be the face of the store, delivering friendly customer service and product guidance. You will assist customers, prepare estimates, and process transactions, while supporting Outside Sales Reps and handling inventory duties.

The role emphasizes a customer-first approach with salary plus commission, offering growth within a family-owned company across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service in a building materials environment.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Effective communication skills.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to be a team player.
• Ability to ensure sales and profit goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store and provide product information.
• Share product information, give advice on project needs, and process transactions.
• Produce estimates for packages/projects and follow up on online quotes.
• Cold call to qualify new leads and support Outside Sales Reps as needed.
• Assist in inventory control by conducting cycle counts and resolving overages/shortages.
