Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team. The role supports pharmacists in dispensing medications and ensuring patient care, with a 40-hour work week and rotating 8-hour shifts from 6am to 11pm, including occasional overnight coverage and every-other-weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT Certification preferred.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.

• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned.
