Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join the hospital's pharmacy team. The role supports dispensing and patient care under a licensed pharmacist.

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, a rotating 8-hour shift (6am–11pm) with occasional overnight coverage, and every-other-weekend scheduling. Sentara provides competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required in the state of practice.
• CPhT license is preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment as part of daily workflow.

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

Location: Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation
