Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in Training. The role involves working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, with responsibilities in dispensing and patient medication delivery.

Enrollment in an approved tech program is required, with certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire. Hours are 6am-11pm on a rotating shift; occasional overnight coverage may occur.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program.
• Certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire in the state of practice.
• Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information and maintains quality assurance.
