Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician. The role involves filling and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring supplies, triaging questions, and processing patient information in Epic and other systems.

A VA Tech license is required; CPhT is preferred. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must hold Virginia Pharmacy Tech License to practice in-state.
• CPhT license preferred for broader credentialing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required to qualify for the role.
• Previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the technician’s scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

_ Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. _

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

Location: Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

*Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.
