Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. The position includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and requires a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License.

The role entails filling and delivering medications under supervision, ensuring supplies are available, and using hospital pharmacy systems. Strong attention to detail and prior pharmacy experience are preferred.

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

Location: Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

*Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.

Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice as needed
  • Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
  • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Education

Certification/Licensure
