Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with ICD-10-CM and CPT training.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Candidate should be proficient with EHR systems and coding references.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient cases with ICD-10-CM/PCS to ensure accurate MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignments.
• Query providers and coordinate with CDIS for documentation issues.
• Monitor work queues and code within established timeframes.
• Maintain high accuracy to prevent denials and ensure compliant reimbursements.
• Review records to extract necessary information for code assignments.
• Adhere to HIPAA and AHIMA standards; use EHR and coding tools.
