Luminis Health, Inc. seeks an Inpatient Medical Coder to accurately code hospital inpatient records under the supervision of the Manager of Coding and Data Quality.

You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for reimbursement, research, and compliance, while resolving documentation issues with providers and CDIS as needed. Minimum one year inpatient coding experience; CCS/CIC/CPC/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred and must be obtained within one year of employment.

Formación

• credentials such as CCS/CIC/CPC/RHIT/RHIA preferred and must be obtained within 1 year if not held.
• Minimum inpatient acute care coding experience; ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS knowledge required.
• Strong knowledge of MS-DRG/APR-DRG methodologies and HIPAA basics.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze inpatient cases and assign ICD-10/PCS codes for reimbursement and compliance.
• Query providers to resolve documentation gaps and communicate with CDIS when needed.
• Code within established timeframes and maintain accuracy to avoid denials.
• Review medical records to extract information for code assignments.
• Coordinate with hospital departments to resolve billing issues.
• Adhere to AHIMA standards and coding compliance guidelines.
