Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join the Coding Production Operations team in a full-time capacity. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes for complex inpatient cases, ensuring compliance with Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a relevant associate degree, 7 years in inpatient acute care coding, and certification from AAPC or AHIMA. Work may involve collaboration with CDI and quality teams across sites.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field is required.
• 7 years' inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting requested.
• Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA required.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct code selection per Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain high-quality coding accuracy and productivity (quality ≥95%, productivity ≥100%).
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRGs and Medicare cases.
• Respond to payer audits and participate in clinical team updates on codes.
