Qualifications

• Inpatient HIM coding in ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• 3 years of HIM inpatient acute care experience.
• CCS/RHIA/RHIT certification preferred or required.
• Knowledge of documentation improvement and query guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Code complex inpatient services including LTACH.
• Query providers to improve documentation and severity.
• Assign MS-DRG and APR-DRG per guidelines.
• Mentor and train coders.
• Collaborate with CDI, revenue cycle and quality teams.
