Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute inpatient services, including LTACH. You will query physicians, ensure documentation accuracy, and support coding quality while collaborating with clinical and revenue teams.

Requires HIM inpatient coding experience, CCS/RHIA/RHIT credentials, and an education in Health Information Management. This role emphasizes education and coding accuracy within a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR Bachelor’s Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS per Official Coding Guidelines and CMS guidelines
• Queries providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG per regulatory guidelines for inpatient services including LTACH
• Mentors and trains coders and supports data accuracy for regulatory agencies
• Collaborates with multiple departments to ensure documentation and coding quality
