Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services including LTACH, rehab, and swing bed. The role involves querying providers for documentation improvements and ensuring coding accuracy per guidelines.

Required education includes an associate degree in Health Information Management or related field; a bachelor’s is preferred. Three years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR
• Bachelor's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Codes ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services including LTACH, rehabilitation, and swing bed.
• Queries providers following official guidelines to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness.
• Mentors and trains coders; participates in education/webinars and meetings.
• Attains coding quality and productivity goals; completes special coding projects and analyses.
