Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-Patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry/abstraction for Hospital (Acute) In-patient visits. The coder will use the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline the workflow, coding CABG, Orthopaedic, and Medical cases across sites.

Candidates must hold a 2-year degree or equivalent with AHIMA/AAPC credentials and have proven experience with CABG/Ortho/Med coding, HIPAA compliance, and strong communication skills for client interactions.

Qualifications

2 year degree or equivalent; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
Active credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC.
Experience coding CABG, Orthopaedic, and Med cases REQUIRED.
Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
Meets or exceeds Quality and Productivity standards.
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
Detail oriented and able to follow through on issues to resolution.

Responsibilities

Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS diagnoses and procedure codes; determine DRG.
Ability to create compliant physician queries.
Review claims for medical necessity.
Update problem lists in line with client contract.
Assign present on admission indicators.
Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
Floats between multiple sites and coding specialties with ease.
