Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent; AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Accurately assigns ICD-10-CM and PCS primary and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes based on the documentation in the record and site guidelines; accurate DRG assignment.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists consistent with client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties.
