Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-patient Coder to handle coding and data entry for acute in-patient hospital visits, specializing in CABG, Orthopedic, and Medical cases. The role uses the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing workflows.

The candidate must hold a 2-year degree or equivalent experience with AHIMA or AAPC certification, and possess active RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/COC credentials. Prior inpatient coding experience and 3M Encoder proficiency are REQUIRED.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Active credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures; ensure accurate DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Floats between multiple sites and coding specialties.
