Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-Patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry for acute inpatient visits, including CABG, orthopedics, and medical cases, using the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing.

You will ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards, maintain accuracy, and collaborate with clinical staff across sites. The position requires AHIMA/AAPC certification and experience with CABG/Ortho/Med coding.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Actively holds RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC credentials.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
• Meets Quality and Productivity standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assign ICD-10-CM and PCS diagnoses and procedures; determine DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent service to clients and teammates.
• Float between sites and coding specialties with flexibility.
